This time, I'll dedicate this space to Nevolution, one of my favorite bands. I first heard about them thanks to an old icelandic friend (Ace M.), circa 2004. Don't ask anymore.
Nevolution is a metal band formed by four guys from a small town in Iceland, who shared the common dream of success in the music business; before being Nevolution, and with a different lineup, they used to be Anubis. Anubis didn't become as well-known as Nevolution and they only recorded two songs. Not long after Nevolution was formed, they recorded their first promotional CD, called The Jumpstop Theory, which contains four songs. After many months, playing around Iceland, they finally took a rest. Then, for some reason Iron Maiden got in ther hands Nevolution's promotional CD (TJT) so they decided to contact them; they wanted the icelandic band to open a concert for them, due to Mastodon couldn't assist. Obviously, they got really excited for the invitation and couldn't were more agree, specially because they consider Iron Maiden their heroes since childhood. The gig must have been a total success, so Nevolution won a well-deserved respectable place in the icelandic music scene.
Some bands Nevolution have played with includes: Into Eternity and Amon Amarth.
After all this, they decided to put all his effort -again- and work on his first album called Music To Snap By. They started to record it on September 2005 and decided it would be more fun if they did it in a farm located in Iceland, 'in the middle of nothing' and then to edit and do everything else that comes after de recording in a fancy studio.
Recording session ended on late January 2006 and came up in stores on April the same year.
For a really lucky reason, which I still thankfully appreciate, I got an album copy plus a Nevolution t-shirt (exclusives in Mexico) on May 2007. Becoming a high estimated gift and with such sentimental meaning for me.
My Interview: 03.12.07While I was enjoying the album and still excited about the package I got from Iceland, many questions came to my mind about the band's history and such things. So I decided to do a kind of interview to Nevolution on December 2007, where Heimir (vocals) nicely took the time to answer.
Here is what I got:
- Hey guys. I've been wondering a few things and I'll truly appreciate if you can answer me these questions: Was "Suiciety" the only song Anubis made?
HEIMIR: Hey, Alejandra. It's nice to hear from you :) No, "Suiciety" was not the only song. Anubis had plenty of songs but this song and another one were the only ones that got recorded.
- Exactly when did Hreinsi became part of Nevolution?
HEIMIR: Hreinsi became a part of Nevolution in September 2005, while we where recording "Music To Snap By".
- Who made (music/lyrics) "Sea Of Faces"?
HEIMIR: Gunni wrote (music/lyrics) to "Sea Of Faces".
- Have you thought about writing a song in icelandic? I'm just curious. Thanks in advance, good luck and the best regards for every one of you.
HEIMIR: No, I think we have never considered writing a song in Icelandic. We like singing in English :) Take care!
- Thanks for answering my questions. I may have you bored asking so much questions but just today (while taking a shower) I remembered some important questions I said I was going to ask you but I didn't since now.
HEIMIR: It's always nice to answer some good questions :)
- Why Nevolution? Who thought about that name for the band?
HEIMIR: The name is just something that Gunni found. It means "no evolution" or "the opposite of evolution".
- What does Nevolution means for you and who/what inspires you to make and write (such amazing) music and lyrics?
HEIMIR: There are so many things that inspire us.
- What happened (to Anubis) and how did Anubis started?
HEIMIR: In the end, the drummer and the other guitar player left the band and me (Heimir) and Gunni decided that we wanted to do something new and formed Nevolution. Anubis used to be called "Modreykur" which is an Icelandic name and was formed by four friends that wanted to write some music and change the world... But that did not go as planed as you know :)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
New Nevolution: 2008-2009While many things were happening on the music scene, specifically to Nevolution, I may have been scratching my tummy or something. New description on Nevolution's MySpace profile has changed and, sincerely, I think no one can describe as good their musical path as them:
On 11th of June 2009, Nevolution wrote a comment on my MSprofile affirming they were working on their new CD.
“A lot has changed for Nevolution in the last year or so. Their music has changed dramatically as has their line-up. With two original members, Heimir and Gunnar and two veterans of the Icelandic rock scene: A.D., the guitar player from the renowned rock band SIGN and Magnus the drummer from Canora, they [Nevolution] have never been stronger. They started out with a bang in 2005 when they opened for Iron Maiden having only released a four song EP.
Shortly after that they released “Music To Snap By” an album that got some recognition around the European underground and got them gigs playing with bands such as Amon Amarth and Into Eternity.
A lot has changed since then and the band's two year hiatus, due to the lead guitarists/main songwriters move to the U.S., has certainly given them a fresh look at their music. They are coming back with their second bang with a new album late this year [2009] that can only be described as a greatly hit oriented rock album with their sound is now more melodic and more to the point and the lead singer's drastic change in vocal style, will certainly raise some eyebrows..."

"All I See" is the first single off the new album and since September this year the video recording was realized.

Specifications
- COMMON NAME: Giant Panda (EN), Panda Gigante (SP) Panda Géant (FR)
- SCIENTIFIC NAME:Ailuropoda melanoleuca
- STATUS: Endangered (IUCN 3.1)
- HABITAT: Temperate Broadleaf and Mixed Forests of Southwest China
- HEIGHT: Upto 150cm for adults
- WEIGHT: 100 to 150 kg
- POPULATION: 1,600 in the wild (report 2004)
DID YOU KNOW?
- In 2004, a survey counted 1,600 pandas in the wild -40% more than were thought to exist in the 1980s.
- An adult panda can weigh about 100-150kg and grow up to 150cm.
- Pandas have the digestive system of a carnivore, but they have adapted to a vegetarian diet of bamboos.
- A panda may eat 12-38kg of bamboo a day.
- Pandas are good tree climbers.
- The panda cub is 1/900th the size of its mother, one of the smallest newborn mammals relative to its mother's size.
- When breeding, pandas require at least 30km² to support them over the short term.
- Gestation takes about 95 to 160 days and pandas normally give birth to single young (twins seem to be born more frequently in captivity, when artificial insemination is used).
- Panda cubs start to climb trees when they are only 6 months old, and as adults the pandas make excellent climbers.
- They can also swim and, unlike most other bears, do not sleep for months at time in hibernation.
- Giant pandas are solitary and peaceful animals who will usually avoid confrontation, but if If escape is not possible, they will certainly fight back.
- The biggest threats to pandas are not in the wild, but through everyday human actions.
- There are around 720 pandas in the Minshan Mountains, 45% of the total wild population.
- PingWu county, in the Minshan Mountain area, has the highest density of pandas in the wild.
- There are around 200-300 hundred pandas in the Qinling Mountains, 20% of the total wild population.
- Scientists recently discovered that the pandas in the Qinling Mountains are actually a different subspecies from other giant panda.
- Pandas live in around 20 isolated habitats in Gansu, Sichuan and Shaanxi provinces in China.
- WWF protects giant panda -and many other species- and their habitat of what experts call the "6th wave of extinction".
Although the situation of the Panda is still very delicate, there are good news regarding the recovery of the species, extension of nature reserves and new projects to help people sustainably coexist with pandas.

Simple. Fancy. Plane. Chococaine. Finally Chococaine changed -again- on August 29th, so your dusted brains get in move. But, CHC in english didn't open until now!
Navigation became easier and more understandable, help is easier to locate too, whole site looks fancy and... there aren't any dotted-stuff anymore (or at least not everywhere). After several months of thinking about the 'great' change, I finally decided to do something about that old look with PSP7 which got me off. Sad part? I'm too lazy to edit stuff; Good part? I don't think someone cares.
So, there's new stuff on the web. And it's...
